Nomogram based on preoperative CT imaging predicts the EGFR mutation status in lung adenocarcinoma

چکیده
Tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) provide clinical benefits to the lung cancer patients with epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) mutations. However, non-invasively determine EGFR mutation status in before targeted therapy remains a challenge. This study aimed develop and validate nomogram for preoperative prediction of adenocarcinoma. The medical records 403 adenocarcinoma confirmed by histology from January 2016 June 2020 were retrospectively collected. We combined CT features risk factors used them build nomogram. performance was evaluated terms calibration, discrimination, usefulness. further validated an independent external cohort. Finally, that contained factors, which could conveniently predict surgery.

Nomogram to predict the presence of EGFR activating mutation in lung adenocarcinoma.
Epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) tumour genotyping is crucial to guide treatment decisions regarding the use of EGFR tyrosine kinase inhibitors in nonsmall cell lung cancer (NSCLC). However, some patients may not be able to obtain tumour testing, either because tissue is limited and/or tests are not routinely offered. Here, we aimed to build a model-based nomogram to allow for prediction...
متن کاملEffect of platinum-based chemotherapy on EGFR gene mutation status in lung adenocarcinoma
The aim of this study was to detect the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) gene type at pre- and postchemotherapy to evaluate the impact of platinum-based chemotherapy on EGFR gene mutations and provide a theoretical foundation for clinical treatment.Around 40 serum DNA samples were collected from advanced nonsmall cell lung cancer patients who received platinum-based chemotherapy as first...
متن کاملEpidermal Growth Factor Receptor (EGFR) Gene Mutation Analysis in Adenocarcinoma of Lung, the First Report from Iran
Background and Objective: Epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) gene mutation, especially in exons 18 to 21, is an important predictor of the response rate of lung adenocarcinoma to tyrosine kinase inhibitors. There are variable reports from Asian and European countries, as well as North America, about the frequency of the EGFR mutation in lung adenocarcinoma, yet molecular s...
متن کاملCorrelation of EGFR or KRAS mutation status with 18F-FDG uptake on PET-CT scan in lung adenocarcinoma
BACKGROUND 18F-fluoro-2-deoxy-glucose (18F-FDG) positron emission tomography (PET) is a functional imaging modality based on glucose metabolism. The correlation between EGFR or KRAS mutation status and the standardized uptake value (SUV) of 18F-FDG PET scanning has not been fully elucidated. METHODS Correlations between EGFR or KRAS mutation status and clinicopathological factors including SU...
متن کاملBrain metastases in lung adenocarcinoma: impact of EGFR mutation status on incidence and survival
BACKGROUND The brain represents a frequent progression site in lung adenocarcinoma. This study was designed to analyse the association between the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) mutation status and the frequency of brain metastases (BM) and survival in routine clinical practice. PATIENTS AND METHODS We retrospectively analysed the medical records of 629 patients with adenocarcinoma i...
